Mr. Lube Canada Hits Milestone of Support During Third Annual Mr. Lube Week at the Zajac Ranch for Children

by SF SF | Aug 15, 2012

As part of the Mr. Lube Kid’s Drive, Mr. Lube Staff and Franchisee Partners rally to raise and donate over $100,000 for Mr. Lube Week at the Zajac Ranch over past three years

Vancouver, BC – August 15, 2012 - Mr. Lube, Canada’s leading quick lube provider, is proud to announce its recent third annual Mr. Lube Week at the Zajac Ranch reached a milestone of care by hitting the $100,000 mark for donations, furthering the company’s commitment to strengthening communities coast-to-coast through proactive children’s health and welfare programs. Since its inception in 2010, the funds have gone directly to support the Zajac Ranch’s programs, additional staff, travel and accommodations.

This year’s Mr. Lube Week, held between August 6th and 10th at the 40-acre Zajac Ranch, brought together over 40 children with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities from across Canada. The camp also offered a much needed respite to over-stretched caregivers, who were able to rest at night knowing their children’s complex needs are being safely looked after by a team of trained medical staff.

“Mr. Lube Week at the Zajac Ranch is central to our culture as a company that aims to take good care of the families and communities in which we serve,” said Stuart Suls, President & CEO, Mr. Lube Canada. “Seeing the affect the week had on the children who attended only motivates us more to build and develop our partnership with the Zajac Ranch. I am very thankful for the generosity of our customers and the hard work of our franchisees for we have provided a group of deserving kids with an experience that they’ll never forget.”

Mr. Lube always strives to play an active role in providing for and contributing towards community projects in its surrounding areas. As big believers in corporate social responsibility, the culture of giving something back can be seen across the entire network of Mr. Lube locations. This year, franchisees such as Matt Siepmann (Locations in Maple Ridge, BC and Windsor, ON); Garnett Brimacombe (Two locations in Kamloops and one in Victoria, BC); and the Everest Group (Mr. Lube’s largest Franchisee Group with six locations in the Lower Mainland; eight in the Greater Toronto Area; two in Windsor, ON; and six in Quebec) joined in the excitement and played with the children at the camp.

"Mr. Lube is an important partner for the Zajac Ranch,” said Carmen Zajac, President, The Mel Jr. & Marty Zajac Foundation. "Their generosity to date and commitment of ongoing support has played a critical role in creating new opportunities and shared experiences for the children who come to the camp.”

Mr. Lube Week at the Zajac Ranch is just one important part of the Mr. Lube Kid’s Drive, a national charitable program which also supports children’s welfare initiatives across the country. Since it was set up, the initiative has raised close to $1,000,000, with every cent going towards improving the lives of children who need it most.

Editor’s note:

Media are invited to speak with members of the Mr. Lube corporate team, individual franchisees, camp organizers and the families and children who benefit from the experience.
