by SF SF | May 20, 2008

THUNDER BAY, ON – On Saturday, May 24, 2008, Mr. Lube at 645 Arthur Street will be supporting Child Find Ontario by donating $6 from every oil change purchased that day.

Parents are invited to bring their children to Mr. Lube from 10 am – 4 pm to receive a complimentary “All About Me I.D. Kit” from Child Find containing their child’s fingerprints, photo and description and vital street-proofing educational material. The information contained in the kit can be used to help locate a missing child. Special discounts on oil changes will be offered throughout the day, entertainment for children and a charity barbecue with proceeds donated to Child Find from 10 am to 4 pm.

“A missing child is every parent's worst nightmare. The issue of missing children affects families from all walks of life and our focus is education and awareness. Talking to parents about talking to their children really does make a difference and is key to prevention.” says Vicki Hood, Manager of Child Find Northern Ontario. “We often hear that it takes a community to raise a child; we also believe that it takes a community to save a child.”

At 12 noon, Vicki Hood of Child Find will be presenting a Circle of Friends recognition award for 2007 to Mr. Lube franchisees, Cori and Sherry Debrusk, in appreciation of their generous support of Child Find.

“Cori and Sherry are to be commended for their work with Child Find. Over the past four years, they have donated over $9,000 to this charity”, says Paul Healey, president and CEO of Mr. Lube Canada. “Their success as Mr. Lube franchisees is a direct result of their passion and commitment to serving their customers and supporting these community initiatives. We embrace their commitment and support the worthwhile charities that they stand behind.”
