Mr. Lube Canada & Canadian PGA Announce Date & Location of 2011 Seniors’ Championship
January 24, 2011
(Acton, ON) January 24, 2011 – Mr. Lube and the Canadian PGA announced today that their schedule
and venue for the 2011 Mr. Lube Tournament for Life and Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship are set
for July 5, 6, 7 & 8 at the beautiful King’s Riding Golf Club in King City, Ontario.
Building on an impressive first year as partners, Mr. Lube and the Canadian PGA will continue to
enhance the Pro-Am and Championship experience for all competitors – amateur and professional.
“We are extremely proud of our partnership with the Canadian PGA. Through our close working
relationship, we are able to both support the community and also give back to a worthy cause, “ said
Stuart Suls, President & Chief Operating Officer of Mr. Lube Canada. “Our goal is to ensure that this
event is recognized as one of the greatest Pro-Am events in the country.”
In 2010, Jim Rutledge of Victoria, BC broke the tournament scoring record with an incredible
performance of 17-under for the 54-hole National Championship and a ten shot victory. Canadian Golf
Hall of Famer Dave Barr of Kelowna, BC finished in 2nd place and recent Champions Tour Winner Rod
Spittle of Niagara Falls, ON finished alone in 3rd place.
The Mr. Lube - Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship will once again kick off on July 5 with the Mr. Lube
Tournament for Life for Pro-Am, an annual charity event in support of prostate cancer research and
education. “The goal of the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am is to raise awareness for this
important cause,” said Suls. “We look forward to creating another world class experience for our
players and partners.”
Every group in the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life will be paired with a Canadian PGA Senior Professional.
In addition, the ‘Legends of Golf Clinic’ will showcase a handful of Canada’s greatest senior players and
Hall of Famers as they will entertain and educate guests after their round.
The King’s Riding Golf Club, designed by Thomas McBroom, is no stranger to hosting Canadian PGA
National Championships, having hosted the 2000 Canadian PGA Championship won by Chad Wright.
Player announcements will be made in the weeks leading up to the Championship.
