[ACTON, ONT.]—The PGA of Canada is proud to announce a partnership extension with one of its key partners, Mr. Lube Canada.

The agreement sees Mr. Lube Canada remain title sponsor of the PGA Championship of Canada and the PGA Senior’s Championship of Canada thru 2018.

“We really couldn't be happier to continue our strong relationship with an incredible partner like Mr. Lube Canada. The company has played an integral role in the support of the PGA of Canada and its members since 2011,” said PGA of Canada CEO Gary Bernard. “We are proud to be partners with Mr. Lube and look forward to building on the successful events we have created with them over the next number of years.”

The Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am, an annual series of events taking place in Toronto and Calgary supporting Prostate Cancer Canada, also remains a key component of the partnership. Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ont., once again hosts the Toronto-based Pro-Am on June 22nd. The venue for the Calgary-based Pro-Am will be announced in the coming weeks. As has been the case since the championship was re-launched in 2011, the PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube and presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf is contested as a match play event featuring the top 64 players from the PGA of Canada Player Rankings presented by RBC.

The PGA Championship of Canada was first played in 1912, making it one of the oldest professional golf championships in the entire world. A storied list of past champions included: Moe Norman, Al Balding, George Knudson, Dan Halldorson, Dave Barr, Bob Panasik, Stan Leonard, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Lanny Wadkins, Ray Floyd and Steve Stricker.

Montreal’s Dave Levesque, the PGA of Canada’s No. 2-ranked player, won this year’s PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube & presented by TaylorMade-adidas at Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ont., besting the association’s top ranked player Billy Walsh.
